was running only 127 children attended, the average attendance
being just over four children per session. These small
figures make it difficult to draw any reliable conclusions from
the conditions found. It is, however, probably significant
that such a high proportion of the children were found to
require treatment of some kind. While some children
may have been taken to the Clinic because they presented
obvious signs of disease, it may reasonably be assumed that
the majority of the mothers to respond to the invitation were
of the careful kind whose children were, if anything, slightly
above the average.
